A hot topic amongst Afro communities globally has been identity and connection within the diaspora. Through insightful and poigniant discussion, ASU, with the help of a panel consisting of Black Americans, Black Africans and Afro-Caribbeans, was able to dissect the disparities between the communities.
Attendees were implored to think critically, facilitating meaningful discussion. Among topics discussed were intercultural relationships, self-identity and of course, cultural appropriation among black people globally.
So, we ask you--how do you identify? What is your stance on intercultural relationships? Do you think black people can appropriate one another's cultures?
Let us know what you think.
